I took it to HannsG factory, they are near me. On phone they said it sounded like screen/ballast. They told me screen ballast warranty had passed (1 year I think) but that circuit boards were still covered (3 years). So, they said if it was screen I would be billed, if it was circuit boards I would not be billed. They never billed me, they just fixed it and shipped it back. I didn't want to call and ask them which it was for fear of generating an invoice.Sorry to be unabvle to answer more helpfully.

I returned it to Best Buy for warranty repair only to find that they no longer carry the HannSpree monitors and they could not send it in for repair. They offered to replace it with what they had on the floor which, of course, were much more expensive or much smaller. I went with a 20' Acer and still had to pay $10 extra. I think I got screwed. But that's life in the big city. And I really liked my HannSpree, too. Now I wish I had found a repair facility which would have replaced the faulty ballast.

The monitor will flicker.and flicker worse as it gets hot in some cases.and the picture will shut off and on while the power light stays blue.
